Thursday 24th
Business dinner at Blue Water Grill, then watched the very end of Florida winning their Sweet 16 game, then the first half of Duke's (they
were winning while I watched), then had to head down to the Tribeca neighborhood to see
Bob Schneider perform solo at the City Winery.
Just serendipity that he was here the same time I was and that I actually spotted it. Had a great seat and a nice place to see a show.
Friday 25th
My already messy room at the
Hampton Inn Chelsea, $189/night. Good location.
Flatiron Building
Wendy and I enjoy Lombardi's- which claims to be America's first pizzaria. Awesome banana icecream to end the night.
Saturday 26th
View from my room.
View of the included breakfast downstairs- all the crispy bacon you can eat!
Quite a long line, but got the 930 boat over to the
Statue of Liberty.
Access to the crown was sold out, but when I picked up my ticket they gave me pedestal access.
Then took the boat to Ellis Island.
Back to Battery Park.
Then I make my way to 7 World Trade Center, which is where Wendy works so I can see the views.
It was one of the three towers to collapse.
The building under construction on the right side is the new WTC tower 1, I had no idea it was that far under way.
The footprints of the original two towers.
Paying my respect to the Goldman Sachs building, and everything they do.
Looking uptown.
Looking east towards Brooklyn.
The former Burlington Coat Factory, which would be the site of the controversial mosque.
Times Square military recruiting station.
Can't believe the iconic Cup of Noodles sign has been replaced.
Yes! We go to Juniors.
Awesome matzoh ball soup.
Meet my Duke classmate Mic, been about 12yrs I believe, at a 24hr Korean restaurant for dinner.
