A pretty good map of this year's tour dates.
So I flew in and out of Mobile, Alabama- which is where Jimmy grew up.
Alamo rental car- got a Civic that had fantastic gas mileage. $66
About a 90 minute drive to Pensacola.
I think this is downtown Mobile.
$219 plus taxes
Walked around for some pics...
...and then I head in.
Is that Jimmy... : )
Haha, no it's the Jimmy look alike Keith who I met before the Vegas show last year. a great guy and retired so able to travel
to see Jimmy as well.
Cool lamps, my friend Linda would have loved these, we collected coral like this in Tulum.
Our bartender shows her seahorse pin that she earned.
Big bathroom and room, very nice.
View from my window.
I would run into Jimmy's bodyguard Charleston downstairs and sit with him while he ate lunch quickly at the bar. I told him my plight of my VIP access
situation, and he referred me to "Slice" one of Jimmy's managers, but I didn't make much progress. Charleston was a really nice guy though.
I would then head over to Land Shark Landing.
A good pulled pork sandwich for lunch.
After taking a quick nap, I headed to the pool. After entering the elevator on the third floor, I turned around and the elevator across the way had opened...
that guy looks just like Jimmy Buffett talking to some people...holy crap it is Jimmy...elevator door closes before I can react...
Below as a pic, courtesy of Kenny, of Jimmy getting into the elevator from the lobby on his way up to my sighting...
So I spend the next hour chilling in the lobby hoping Jimmy will come down. Mac MacAnally comes out of the restaurant and I get to explain my situation
with him as well, he says he will do what he can...
Painting right outside the pool.
Shower, change, head downstairs to the bar.
Drinks were surprisingly affordable.
Here you see Jenny and Scott, who I met last week at the Chart Room bar in Key West last week- they were seeing all three Florida shows as well. And our new
friend Allen from South Carolina.
We take a pic with Mac on his way out to the show.
Our limo to the show!
I meet Anne and Kenny- hard core Parrotheads from Virginia.
Anne was at the same St. Bart and Paris shows I was. Kenny has been to over 130 shows, and they have both had some incredible Jimmy
Opening song- Changes In Latitude
Filmed by Anne
Frankie & Lola
A Pirate Looks at 40
Closing song- Taking the Old Man Home
It was Robert Greenidge's birthday.

I had thought how great and convenient this flight was...well mechanical failure. Flight didn't leave Mobile until 3pm, landed in Austin about 7:15pm.
